It has been said, that all good things must come to an end. When you hear your last day will reach a stifling 116 degrees, one might assume that you would have a miserable day; but not in Lesotho, for our last day couldn't have been any better. We'd known for a while that we would be attending Baylor hospital in Masero to put on a carnival for the kids. For those of you who don't know, Baylor hospital is a free facility that specializes in childhood HIV/AIDS treatment. Needless to say, it was a day filled with emotions. Granted these emotions weren't necessarily all bad as once again, the wonderful children of Lesotho continued to blow us away. In fact, they created a sense of nostalgia reminding us of all the amazing children we've met throughout the trip. Which is why the trip couldn't have ended in a better fashion than hiking up the mountain that is notorious for its dinosaur footprints, accompanied by the local village children.
As we sit here and reminisce, we cant help but to think about Ramabanta and the dream of once again returning. We are truly at a loss for words, as we sit here and try to explain to all of you what this trip has meant to us. But we can tell you, the memories we have made with the children in Ramabanta will forever stay with us. Undoubtedly, the weeks we have spent in Lesotho, have been the best 3 weeks of our lives.
As we reflect about our many memories we have made on this trip, we are reminded that none of this would have been possible without the Rosenberg's and the Thorn family. We are extremely grateful for all the support that they have given us thoughout this trip, and of course for the fabulous dinner they put on for us last night. However, our gratitude would not be complete without sending a sincere thank you to all of our families who have been nothing but loving and supportive throughout this whole experience. We really hoped you all enjoyed the daily blogs and especially that gnarly haiku. We are all so excited to see our families again, and to reflect on the experiences we've had with you, Lesotho 2015/2016 service trip, signing off.
With all of our love,
Jhena and Maddy
