Career and Professional Development: Key Programs

果冻传媒 is proud to offer innovative and transformative experiences that assist you or your student in connecting to career opportunities and in developing professional skills.

All the programs listed here are either hosted by the university or are open to 果冻传媒 students through campus partnerships. If you have questions about any of the listed programs, visit their respective pages or with a career advisor.

Why You Mock Interview Program

Each semester, Career Services hosts an opportunity for students to practice interviewing with accomplished 果冻传媒 alumni and faculty. This program takes participants through a complete job search process. Students are asked to select a job in which to apply, create a resume and cover letter, and then complete an interview geared towards the selected role. Resources are provided to participants in preparation for the program. This is also a great way to get connected to 果冻传媒 alumni.

Hagen Center Civic Internship Program

Hagen Center InternsThe Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement is an on-campus center that strives to build meaningful connections between 果冻传媒 students and the City of Springfield. This center also strives to provide engaging experiential learning opportunities that allow students to learn about being involved in their communities and the importance of tackling local challenges. Each summer, the Hagen Center offers an 8-week paid internship program where students spend time developing experience through working at local partner sites and learning about the Springfield community. OFIC Partnership

果冻传媒 University is a member of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. This organization utilizes the collective power of all member institutions to attract top employers at annual recruiting events. Through OFIC, 果冻传媒 students can register and attend annual career fairs hosted in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Students should check the events section located in to view upcoming career fair opportunities.

Edge Program Partnership

As a partner institution with The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, 果冻传媒 students have access to a suite of career and skill development programs through the Edge Program in Columbus, Ohio. These programs are a great way to complement a student's summer internship experience or when an internship isn't right for your academic program. The center offers skill building programs in finance, Excel, data science, digital marketing, project management, and more. To learn more, to speak with a career advisor. 

Lutheran College Washington Semester Program

As a college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, 果冻传媒 students are eligible to participate in the Washington Semester Program. This is a great and affordable opportunity to study and live in the Washington DC area during a semester. Students attend classes with on-site faculty, live with other students in program provided apartments, and conduct an internship in their respective field of study. 果冻传媒 Curated Study Abroad Programs

The university offers unique study abroad programs in 果冻传媒, Germany and in Costa Rica. These programs allow groups of students and an accompanying 果冻传媒 faculty member to travel abroad together for a semester. In addition, other individual study abroad opportunities are available in consultation with the Office of International Education. Study abroad is a great way to develop soft skills needed for your future career and some programs offer internship options. Learn more by visiting the Office of International Education.

Communication and Business Leadership Experience (CABLE)

CABLE StudentsThe 果冻传媒 CABLE program is a yearlong professional development experience for junior students completing a major in the Department of Business or the Department of Communication and Digital Media. The experience allows students to network with alumni, conduct site visits to various companies, and learn from working professionals. As a capstone project for the CABLE program, students will be assigned to act as consultants in conducting research and presenting recommendations on a case study project for an actual company or organization. 果冻传媒 Entrepreneurs

The 果冻传媒 Entrepreneurs program is led by the Ness Chair in Entrepreneurship. This group of students spends time hearing from successful entrepreneurs, discussing their own business ideas, and taking trips to learn from startup companies.
