Hagen Center: Faculty Resources

The Susan Hirt Hagen Center works alongside faculty and staff at 果冻传媒 who want to make an impact in the community. Whether you want to practice community-engaged teaching or research, serve as an asset to community-based partners with a high-level skill, or simply want to volunteer your time to a community organization, we are here to help.

The Hagen Center supports faculty in the following ways:

  • Connect with a community partner for a course, program, or project.
  • Assist with logistics, designing assignments, course development, assessment, or proposals for Civic Engagement experiences (including courses, FIRE Week, Study Away, etc.).
  • Provide teaching stipends for faculty teaching approved civic engagement experiences.
  • Facilitate civic engagement reflection sessions in your course or program.
  • Create professional development opportunities for faculty and staff around community-engaged teaching.
  • Access to the latest research and resources in the field of community-engagement.
  • Serve as the university repository for records, results, and reports produced by civic engagement courses.
  • Collaborate to plan programs that involve the local community (e.g. community resource fairs, events at local museums, connecting students to local resources, etc.).

We are happy to discuss your goals and connect you to a community partner or project that aligns with your teaching or research. Faculty can contact Kim Creasap, Director of the Hagen Center, with any questions.
